Bayu Perdana 2 Guarded Neighbourhood Scheme

Bayu Perdana 2 is a small, new community housing scheme consisting of 41 units of double-storey terrace houses situated in Section 11, PJU 5,  Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. It is located along the same road as Giant Kota Damansara and next to D'Villa Botany, a guarded and gated semi-detached housing scheme. The construction of the housing scheme started in 2007 and was completed and handed over to the owners in February 2009. Amongst the 4 earliest owners to move in were 3 adjoining owners who had decided to move in on the same date on 25 July 2009 (Saturday), However when it was discovered that a robbery had taken place a day earlier to the the other neighbour prior to that date, the 3 adjoining neighbours decided to hire 2 security guards to provide nightly security services from 8.00 pm to 7.00 am for a period of 7 months from August 2009 until the end of February 2010 until there were more new neighbours who had moved into the neighbourhood. At that point, there wasn't much cooperation that could be galvanised from the new owners to participate in setting up a guarded neighbourhood.

It wasn't until early October 2010 when one of the new would-be 'kid on the block' got 2 of the adjoining neighbours to work together to galvanise the whole neighbourhood to form a protem committee and set up a guarded neighbourhood scheme. A meeting was held on 10 October 2010 (Sunday) amongst the few residents who turned up and a protem committee was formed. It was agreed that a monthly security fees of RM 120.00 plus a sinking fund of RM 30.00 would be collected amongst the 30 or so occupied houses to provide for the hire of 2 security guards to man and patrol our streets nightly from 7.00 pm to 7.00 am starting from 1 November 2010.

In order to minimise the hassle and frequency for the collection of our monthly security & sinking fees, the protem committee has decided to go on a collection for every 3 months in advance starting from 1 November 2010. It is hoped that with the much valued cooperation and continuous support required from all the residence that the hiring of the 2 security guards on a nightly 12-hour basis to man, patrol and safeguard our property and lives can be sustained  thereby contributing to the security and peace of our neighbourhood.
