Low Water Pressure @ our neighbourhood

I notice that the water pressure in our housing area has gotten very low as compared to the days when we 1st moved in July 2009. Take a look at the reading of the incoming water pressure reading taken off the pressure gauge attached to my water filter below :

This reading of 0.5 bar (8 psi) in mid afternoon is kinda low I think. The water pressure gets slightly better at night when the reading becomes about 0.8 bar (12 psi). Maybe we should request Syabas to come and take a look at the low water pressure in our housing area.

According to Syabas' Client charter (http://www.syabas.com.my/), it states that :

The Company aims to provide adequate water supply with the following minimum residual gauged pressure at the point of connection during peak flow in the long term :

Rural : 10 m.
Urban : 22 m.

Maybe someone from Syabas can convert that meter head to psi or bar readings for us.

Cute Beagel in Pet Shop in Giant Kota Damansara

While I was walking from the Giant Kota Damansara car park to take the lift up to the news agent shop to buy my early morning papers on 23 Jan 2011, I came accross this cute Beagel dog at the Pet shop in Giant Kota Damansara. I couldn't help but took my h/p out to snap some pics of this cute dog looking alittle forlorn and bored sitting on his toy gorilla doll. Perhaps it was saying that I have flattened this gorilla on the floor whilst playing with it or perhaps it was finding some warmth sitting on top of this doll on the cold morning.

The 2nd pic tells a story of boredom with no where to turn to to find the company that it needs, perhaps hoping for a kind loving pet lover to come and bring it home.

Bayu Perdana 2 Guarded Neighbourhood Scheme

Bayu Perdana 2 is a small, new community housing scheme consisting of 41 units of double-storey terrace houses situated in Section 11, PJU 5,  Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. It is located along the same road as Giant Kota Damansara and next to D'Villa Botany, a guarded and gated semi-detached housing scheme. It's location in Google Map can be found in the following link :

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=&q=giant+kota+damansara&sll=2.994988,101.442287&sspn=0.001543,0.003777&ie=UTF8&hq=giant+kota+damansara&hnear=&t=h&ll=3.162402,101.594347&spn=0.001543,0.00582&z=18

The construction of the housing scheme started in 2007 and was completed and handed over to the owners in February 2009. Amongst the 4 earliest owners to move in were 3 adjoining owners who had decided to move in on the same date on 25 July 2009 (Saturday), However when it was discovered that a robbery had taken place a day earlier to the the other neighbour prior to that date, the 3 adjoining neighbours decided to hire 2 security guards to provide nightly security services from 8.00 pm to 7.00 am for a period of 7 months from August 2009 until the end of February 2010 until there were more new neighbours who had moved into the neighbourhood. At that point, there wasn't much cooperation that could be galvanised from the new owners to participate in setting up a guarded neighbourhood.

It wasn't until early October 2010 when one of the new would-be 'kid on the block' got 2 of the adjoining neighbours to work together to galvanise the whole neighbourhood to form a protem committee and set up a guarded neighbourhood scheme. A meeting was held on 10 October 2010 (Sunday) amongst the few residents who turned up and a protem committee was formed. It was agreed that a monthly security fees of RM 120.00 plus a sinking fund of RM 30.00 would be collected amongst the 30 or so occupied houses to provide for the hire of 2 security guards to man and patrol our streets nightly from 7.00 pm to 7.00 am starting from 1 November 2010.

Amongst the resident who had agreed and volunteered to be in the protem committee are :

Special thanks and credit must be given to Mr. Jeffrey Ooi, who had assisted in organising in the initial stage for the setting up of the protem committee meeting.

In order to minimise the hassle and frequency for the collection of our monthly security & sinking fees, the protem committee has decided to go on a collection for every 3 months in advance starting from 1 November 2010. It is hoped that with the much valued cooperation and continuous support required from all the residence that the hiring of the 2 security guards on a nightly 12-hour basis to man, patrol and safeguard our property and lives can be sustained  thereby contributing to the security and peace of our neighbourhood.

We look forward to your continued support and cooperation. Thank you.

Protem Committee.
